Get your South Pacific hip-hop head nod on!
New Zealand born Samoan rapper King Kapisi will be performing for the very first time in Holland at Bitterzoet, Amsterdam on Friday September 24th.
The venue is known for putting on a wide variety of events and this one night only performance will more than exceed the usual punters expectations and definitely create a new interest in South Pacific hiphop.
Always up for a good time, Kapisi's plans for the night involve a deejay set kicking off with 70's funk, 80's rn'b, reggae, dancehall and hip-hop tunes. He will be dropping tracks from his past three albums and his soon to be released fourth album, Hip-Hop Lives Here.
An award winning songwriter and music video director, Kapisi is also a deejay, has an exquisite falsetto, is a beat-making producer, a beat-boxer and a microphone fiend. You will be listening to self-produced beats, where he plays a majority of instruments himself on the recordings and crowd participation is a must.
'Many emcees and deejays get up on the mic and forget that they are here to entertain people too. I have no problem asking for a response to what I say on the mic, 'cos basically if you can hear my voice I am talking to you!' states Kapisi on his debut performance in Holland.
Make sure your shoes are comfortable for dancing, even a forearm sweat band might come in handy. The King intends on keeping you moving for the entire night.
